So, yeah, I’m all new to this mixed up diverse world of men and options and games they play.  I just don’t understand the point in it all.  I know women aren’t innocent in the game playing either, but honestly, don’t know any.  You can read on the Internet, don’t call him first… wait until he makes the first move… blah blah blah… and just for the record… I did wait until the few guys I’ve gone out with made the first move (i.e. calling me, asking me out, etc).  After a few dates.. then what? 

I had to ask a guy friend of mine advice and what stuff meant… that’s simply ridiculous.  Do I think he’s right in his assessment of what another man thinks?  Well, since he has done the same crap to women over the last few years… I’d say he knows better than I do.  Why is it so difficult for people to communicate in early stages of “getting to know you”?  If people would express intent or future ideas (not about that particular person of course) and desires, it would save a lot of f’ing time… Either you have the same values and want the same things, so see what happens, or you just don’t and say it was a good date, good luck.  Peace!

My rant for the day… Being single is fun its just frustrating as hell too, and I felt like complaining today…

So it was kind of weird…I’m sitting on his couch in his boxers and t-shirt, drinking the strongest coffee I think I’ve ever had and dodging the dog’s kisses every 2 seconds… when it dawned on me.  This guy… that I have only known for a couple months… Reminds me of my ex-husband.  Same gentleness (most of the time), same gentlemanly gestures (opens the car door every time), he cooked breakfast AND made coffee (yeah, sorry,  I just forgot that some men can actually do those things), some of the same likes (scratching his head for sure), the willingness to do whatever I wanted (go out or stay in) just because…

While I still don’t really know this man from Adam… at least being with him helps me define what it is that I truly want in a man.  All the characteristics that I see in him right now, were all the things that I loved about my ex.  Sadly, when I found all those traits in him 8 years ago, I wasn’t sure that’s what I wanted…Having had the opposite (the metro-sexual type), I would gladly choose that manly man any day. 

I don’t know and really don’t want to know where this relationship is going right now.  I know I enjoy being around him, he makes me laugh and I am comfortable with him.  One day at a time.

On the road of discovery, we often question where we’ve been versus where we’re going simply because the future is unknown.  In truth, while unaware of our future paths or where the bends and breaks will occur, I believe most of know where we ultimately want to end up.  I know without doubt what I want in life.  I don’t know how or when I will achieve that dream, but the fact is, I know. 

Where I am:  I am a single successful, educated 32 year old woman.  I own my house (well the bank does, but I pay them to have my name of title in 29 more years), I have a great sense of humor and love adventure.  I don’t like bullshit or games that most people play…or that fluffy beat around the bush crap.  I am content and pleased with almost every aspect of my life.  I am independent, I have my own money and I really don’t need any one to “take care” of me.

My destination:  A greater happiness than I have ever known.   I will find a special someone to share my life, someone who respects me, loves me and cherishes me.  Someone who brings a smile to my face the moment they walk in the room, someone who fills my life with passion, not just the sexual side either. 

I will advance my career, make more money, etc… That seems so duh to me, but I had to add it because its part of where I know I will be. 

And someday, I will be a mom.  Until then, the journey will be the greatest one of all… I get to define it as I go…
